Liverpool will be looking to get revenge for their early season defeat - a game that the reds dominated in everything but scoreline (Burnley won 2-0).
And following on from our victories over Spurs and Arsenal at Anfield then Liverpool should have nothing to fear from a side without an away win in any competition this season.
In the aftermath of that game Burnley forward Andre Gray had some old social media posts resurfaced and he was eventually charged by the FA for bringing the game into disrepute over homophobic posts. He was hit with a 4 match ban and a £25k fine. Those events may provide him with some personal motivation in this fixture.
Rescheduled game
Liverpool v Burnley was originally scheduled to be the first game at Anfield with the new Main Stand - however due to a delay in completion the clubs switched the games around so that the reds travelled to Turf Moor back in August.
There are 11 games left in this Premier League campaign but seven of them are at Anfield and the reds will likely need as close to maximum points from home if they are to successfully make it into the Champions League places.
Liverpool are currently in 4th place, although Arsenal (two points behind) do have a game in hand. Burnley meanwhile are cemented in mid-table in 12th.
Teams
Daniel Sturridge is still unavailable for the reds. As is Jordan Henderson. Although Dejan Lovren is back training it appears the Liverpool boss is hesitant to change defensive line ups again and he may stick with the Joel Matip - Ragnar Klavan partnership that functioned so effectively against the Gunners last week.
Roberto Firmino faces a late fitness test, with Divock Origi primed to come in for the Brazilian forward.
For Burnley Steven Defour could return and Tom Heaton will be between the sticks after a brief period of sickness.
Burnley like being in Burnley
The Burnley side do not enjoy playing away from home. They have built their entire Premier League survival strategy on their home form which has been pretty impressive.
They have inflicted damage on not just the teams on the bottom but those in the top half. They have beaten us, Everton and Southampton at home. They held Chelsea to a draw recently and only lost by the one goal against Man City and Arsenal. They have the 6th best home record in the division.
But away from home it has been an unmitigated disaster. They have the worst away record of any Premier League side with 11 defeats and 2 draws (one of those was at Old Trafford).
Despite having the worst away record again defeats have not always been by big margins and they have performed slightly better at the top 6 clubs. Their defeats at Arsenal, Spurs and Man City were all by just one goal (all 2-1 scorelines).
Liverpool start as strong favourites with the bookmakers - Burnley, due to their record, are wild outsiders.
Although Liverpool are arguably one of the most unpredictable teams in English football at present with the finishing line approaching there is little room for any excuses for another Anfield failure.
